Ooh that's a really good question. And my honest answer is I'm not entirely sure. On the one hand I can see how doing away with all societal constructs such as gender and race is a idealistic idea. I mean, if we were all truly equal and accepted for exactly who we were, that would be a wonderful world. But the sad truth is we aren't. We do live in a society were greater value is placed on a set of characteristics and assumed norms that benefit straight, cis, wealthy, white men. So I feel like we have to do some undoing before we can even think about that. I don't know enough about gender abolition to comment meaningfully, but I would feel fairly confident that there might be those who might see it as a way to minimise the corrective action required to secure the much needed rights of trans people. It's interesting to think about. What are your thoughts on the topic?
